Switch Off Fortnight

From 21st November, we will be starting the Eco School’s Switch Off Fortnight.

The Eco team will be coming around school to check which classes are Eco Warriors and which are Energy Monsters. Help your teacher remember to switch off smart boards, computers, iPads, lights and other electrical devices. Nobody wants to find a black footprint from Carbon the Dog do they?

Let’s see which class gets Carbon’s certificate.

Post a comment here to tell everyone what you are doing at school and home to save energy…..remember it’s not just electricity you save, it’s money too!!!

Eco team 2016-17

imageHere are your new Eco team enjoying the Autumn weather at Sandon street. Thank you to Friends of Sunninghill for raising money towards buying the wooden climbing equipment that was installed over the summer holiday.

P.s. Don’t they look great in the new Green Team jumpers?!

Willow Arch

We have planted some willow in the hope that it will take root and grow. If successful, it can be trained and tied so that it forms an arch or even a tunnel!

Guess the mini-beast

Post a comment to name the mini beast for each number:

New insect habitat at Sandon Street!

The insect habitat has been redone by some year 6 pupils. Try not to disturb it and maybe we’ll find some mini-beasts move in soon.image

Eco Code Winner

imageWell done to Yusha and Saalikah whose competition entries were merged to create our new Eco code.

You should be getting your copy very soon, once the Eco Team have decorated them.

New Eco code competition

If you want to enter the Eco Code competition you must give Ms Taylor in 3T your entry by 12:30, Monday 11th January.

The code can be a poem, set of rules, list, song or any format that you like. However it must be your own work, not copied from anywhere else. It would be great if it were decorated to make it attractive but it doesn’t have to be.

The code should help everyone to remember eco rules around school so could be quite short.

Below are the 2 previous Eco codes to give you some ideas. Good luck 🙂

Sandon Street

How exciting! The new play trees have arrived. We measured them and decided where to position them. Now we can’t wait to explore, investigate and use them both for learning and play.steps
